As facilitator's, it is important to understand that the term 'experiment' means to continuously make connections while solving problems. Children need to be provided with opportunities to experiment with a variety of materials so they can;
  • have good ideas
  • try out their good ideas
  • see the results of their experiment.
"Science inquiry can also emerge, with facilitation, from meaningful exploration in other curriculum domains" (ChaillĂ©, 2008). When mixing oil and water together there are several different curriculums that can be enhanced. They are;
  • math, through measurement
  • language, through communication by asking questions and sharing ideas
  • creative arts.
